Service Description

This is Bronwen Carson's LAST Advanced On-Camera intensive at BTO! This 6-week course is for dedicated actors who want to elevate their abilities & actively pursue TV and film work. Students will explore advanced acting techniques such as micro-expressions, moments of silence, and Laban technique through both monologues & scenes. Class videos will be shared each week so you can see your progress! Learn How To: ~communicate with a director ~become highly familiar with what directors and casting directors are looking for ~strengthen your blocking by connecting it to your acting choices ~deepen your abilities for compelling and unforgettable work ~discuss how to bridge how you see yourself vs how casting and directors perceive you ~broaden your range through interpretive shifts Class will not meet on Father's Day, June 16th. *Audition or instructor approval required prior to joining. Bronwen Carson is an award-winning writer and generative director. She’s a New York International Fringe Festival Excellence in Directing award recipient (April’s Fool), a member of the 2023-24 playwriting cohort at The Dramatist’s Guild, recipient of the 2023 Goddard Engaged Artist Grant, the 2022 Unleash Press Book Award, and the 2021 Rona Jaffe Breadloaf Scholar Award. Her debut novel, Magpie, published in March 2023 (Unleash Press) is currently nominated for the National Book Award and the PEN/Hemingway Award. She’s a two-time Drama League generative writer-director finalist and her work has been supported by The Director's Lab at The Actors Studio, Sarasvati Creative Space, Irondale, The Ross Foundation, The Rona Jaffe Award, NY Int’l Fringe Festival, The Ailey Center, Skirball, The Watt Family Foundation, Meetinghouse Literary Journal, Unleash Press, TÉA Artistry, Duke Films, GRASP, The Private Theatre, The Dramatist’s Guild, and The Sundance Institute. Cancellation Policy

Due to the uncertain nature of sickness & travel, we cannot offer refunds or prorated class rates. However, we are happy to offer class credits for entire missed sessions or workshops. Prorated class credits may be given on a case-to-case basis if the student has missed at least half of the classes in a session.
